"US Immersion Program - Global Approach to Arrhythmia Expertise"

Program:

A two-week observational program for established medical doctors with experience in CRM devices and/or ablation, looking to expand their device and ablation expertise. 

To be held at medical institutions in the United States, selected by Medtronic, immediately prior to or after the annual Heart Rhythm Society meeting, May 10-13, 2017 in Chicago.

This initiative is co-sponsored by Medtronic and HRS, who have joined together with APHRS to provide this opportunity for Asia-Pacific electrophysiologists. International travel and accommodations at the host centre will be provided by Medtronic. Travel to/from the host centre, accommodations, and registration expenses for Heart Rhythm 2017 will be provided by HRS.

 

Eligibility:

  1. Must be physician in the Asia-Pacific region
  2. Must be a Regular Member of APHRS
  3. Have prior experience implanting cardiac rhythm devices and/or performing ablations

 

Applicant experience criteria:

Practicing electrophysiologists with experience in diagnosing and treating arrhythmia patients including:

  1. Bradycardia pacing for SND and AV block
  2. Syncope
  3. Ventricular tachycardia - Primary and secondary prevention of sudden death including implantation of an ICD
  4. HF monitoring and treatment for systolic heart failure with implantable CRT pacemakers and CRT defibrillators
  5. Monitoring and treatment of atrial fibrillation, including implantation of insertable loop recorder (ILR) device and ablation of Paroxysmal AF with cryo ballon or RF ablation

 

Medical Institutions:

  2. Aurora Health, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
  3. Northwestern University Medical Center, Chicago, Illinois
